This lady right here, is gonna try to promote some artwork!

Call me an amateur, and I'm fine with that title. But, Lord have mercy, please don't call me a buckweater!! I know I am new to this whole artistic deal, and I'm okay with that. Everyone has to start somewhere, right?

So I've recently been researching online for website to try and promote my latest artwork. Came across a few, set up some accounts with some...... but when you forget your username AND p.w. it must not have caught my eye in the first place. LOL! I finally found fineartamerica.com and after some research and help from a few good friends, I went ahead and posted some of my photography. This was two days ago. I check my photos today and 5 people from VA, WA, NY, NC, and Canada have viewed a few of my pieces. Call my crazy or just plain silly, but seeing that these random folks across our country had viewed MY work, made me all giddy and excited inside!! I upgraded to the premium feature, (only a $30 annual fee) in which if someone wants to purchase a piece of my artwork, the company itself will print the photo/drawing, mat and frame it if the customer buys the accessories, package it securely, and ships it to the buyer. I then will receive a check in the mail for my sale.  I have not yet made a sale because I have NO idea how to price my photographs. My drawings, on the other hand, I think I'll have a better judgement on how to price. But since we have a scanner that will only scan paper by the size of 8.5x11, I am limited on what I can put up for sale. Called FedEx Kinko's and they can scan most of my artwork and place them on a CD for me so I can upload them to fineartamerica.com and it's basically a duplicate of the original. I had tried taking pictures of my drawings with my brand spankin' new 16.1 mega pixel digital camera, but it's just not coming out like I'd want it. So FedEx Kinko's is gonna be my savoir for the moment to try and get this ball rolling. :)

If you're someone who appreciates fine art (or amateur work) please go check out my photography on fineartamerica.com. Search for me by my name, Shayna Keach. My profile is public and so are my photos. Please, go take a look. And by Monday, I hope to have some of my drawings up and ready for anyone and everyone to see and/or purchase!!! ..........Feedback is always good too! ;)

AMATEUR .... wish me Luck!

Oooh la la, this artistic thing I seem to hold deep inside my soul has had plenty of time to escape my temple. And I now have these pieces of artwork to prove my therapy sessions. :)

Drawing was never really something I was "in to" ..... I was more into so-called "doodling" .... but I had recently been doodling album art from Deee-lite and I discovered I could look at something and somewhat try to draw it or make it my own. I have many drawings I've done in the past few months and I'm ever so proud of them. I recently drew a couple pieces for my mama and I then realized (with a little help from mama herself) that I could possibly sell my work. (Prints of course.... I don't think I could part with my originals) So I'm now on a mission to try to promote my amateur artwork and see if anyone would wanna place some of it in their homes. Wish me luck, folks. This would be an ideal dream for me to come true! ;)

I've been gone for a minute, Now I'm back again!

Artsy has always been a trait for me, just some time periods were cut shorter then other. Coloring has always been a must. Growing up with G'ma Mums, it was mandatory to have Crayola art supplies in the house!! My dad is also an artist, photographer, painter, etc. And mama has great sketching abilities. So when I was recently introduced back to my carefree ways of music and art I was ecstatic!!! I've been coloring like crazy and recently just started to do some sketches and drawings. I've attached pics of the ones that I've recently done. It feels good to be able to express myself through art... it is, indeed, my THERAPY!! :))

Familia Falsa.. y solo un Amor..

People will always show you their true colors. You just need to know how to read them accurately, and weed out all the bad seeds!

Have you ever had a friend that you connected with and felt like you were destined to be in each others lives? Well, I had that for about 4 yrs. A friendship that I confided in.. but all in all was a waste of my time. Sad but true! Yes they were in NM and I had never once met them, but we had a connection. I do believe they'd say the same. But things got complicated and they were pulled in two different directions. They then, exited my life. Abrubt and in my eyes, plan old RUDE!! But I'll always have mad love for them. Just wish it would have worked out or e ended on a better note. :(

Megahorns ain't got nothing on my hubs..

Not only is this the second blog I am posting, but it's also the shortest and most ridiculous one I think I'll ever do! Why in the name of Hades must my husband snore like he is a wild hog?! I get the fact that my bedtime being 2am is not at all the greatest but I'd rather be up till the wee hours of the nite coloring, rather than hearing him snore.... Ugh! Wish me luck on that trip to sleepy town!!!!

A FREE SPIRITED GYPSY ON A MISSION TO RETAIN HER SANITY!

Yeah, it's 1:11am, and I'm new to this whole blog thing. Thanks to my good friend, Erin!! I'm thinking this is going to be a great outlet for me.. seeing as how everyone needs an outlet. And the benefits of this is that it's legal and no one gets hurt!!

My latest project was transforming the second half of mine and my husband's bedroom into the ULTIMATE chill and meditation spot! If you haven't yet noticed, I'm quite the Jimi Hendrix fan. He, in my eyes, is THE best musician that ever lived! So I decided to dedicate this space to him. Growing up being a family member in the Staples residence on S. Murray Hill on the west side of Columbus OH, consisted of my good ole "middle-class" eccentric parents. They grew up in the 70's and had all the exquisite vinyl's. Had all of the classic woodstock posters and all the vintage bell bottoms, tube tops and halter tops. (well, mama had the halter and tube tops, not dad lol) I grew up hearing the music and I remember my dad would always play Hendrix albums. It's like the first time I heard it, it wasn't the first time I had heard it. It sounded beyond familiar to me.. as if I, myself, wrote the music and lyrics. Ever since that day of being a 12 year old.. I've been Jimi's absolute and #1 fan. Period. The end. No joke! My bedroom was basically a shrine of him. Posters filled the walls and ceiling.. You couldn't see what color the walls were painted. It was pretty intense. My room stayed that way until my now husband and I moved in together. Now, when I say I'm Jimi's #1 fan, I mean I am LEGIT his #1 fan! My husband and I's bedroom in our first place together was decorated with the same exact posters and memorabilia I had in my childhood bedroom. We then moved to a bigger place that had an extra bedroom, and up everything went in that room as well. We got married, he joined the military, lived on post in military housing and had our bedroom totally decked out with Jimi. We are now buying our house off post and we have yet to really decorate, due to certain events (that event will have to be a completely different post) but I was beyond determined to get my chill spot back. So with some help and motivation from a couple good friends and my husband... it's finally back!! Up and running and better than ever!! I'm so pleased with the way it has turned out and love that not only did I spruce it up with all my childhood Hendrix relics, but I have found even more Hendrix mementos to add to my collection! I've also decorated my space with a lot of printed mandala's and abstract coloring pages that I colored with bright vibrant markers (g'ma mums would be so proud of me!). My 3yr old loves coming into mommy's room and coloring and doing crafts. She is a big Jimi Hendrix fan now too!! She tells me "I love Jimi Hendrix!" Gotta love it!!! But indeed, it's a very serene place for me, a place I can escape to get lost in my thoughts and not worry about life's trials and tribulations. It's great. And in the background on constant repeat on iTunes.... is, yes you guessed it, Jimi Hendrix's four disc velvet purple box set! So, everyone.... let's love and let live in peace.... and take some time out of your day..... to Go2TheRoom and get lost in the music.. Be that free spirited gypsy on a mission to retain your sanity. I am..
